Mel Casipit is an accomplished freelance illustrator and cartoonist originally from Pangasinan, now based in Makati City, Philippines. He has a deep passion for comics and illustration and has self-published his own books while participating in both local and international comic conventions.

Mel’s comic strip, Parekoys,” has been serialized in the Manila Bulletin since 2018 and has earned him a loyal following among readers. He has also received numerous accolades for his work, including the “Best Entry Award” at Komikon’s Comic Creation Contest from 2008-2009 and the “Best Grassroots” Comics Award in 2011.

In addition to his independent work, Mel has collaborated with various clients, including The Mind Museum, Shell Philippines, Ragnarok Online, and Ticiland Theme Park. He has also illustrated books for aspiring writers overseas.
